Miller's Dark Knight was famously "too big." Morrison and Quitely's All-StarSuperman was simply "big." Gone were all the Marvel trappings that Byrne, Wolfman, et al tried adding to pull on his cape. On this page, I love the scope of their Fortress of Solitude, and all the open space (also the Batman cameo on Superman's custom chess board). Almost unnoticed by time and memory, of course, is the Space Shuttle Columbia as the disaster would have never happened in All-Star Superman's world (a famous counter to Byrne having to change the design of the shuttle Superman saved in Man of Steel because it would have been too soon back then).

Awesome page (s)! Quitely kills at establishing a sense of space...and in this case massive space. One tiny figured out of perspective and the scale could be ruined....but of course he nails it. I love the chess board. Thats two All Star Superman DPS's for you now, I'm jealous.
