DescriptionPicked up this cover recently from Mike Burkey at Romitaman.com. It's from the 2005 series, arc titled “Who is the Black Panther?” JRJR did the interiors and the issue 1 cover and the other covers were done by some other prominent artists, this one by Mr. and Mrs. Dodson.I hadn’t picked up a Dodson piece yet, and since BP is one of my favorite characters, this was pretty much a no brainer. It’s also from one of the character’s better storylines (they used this arc for the animated mini-series) and showcases BP on a flying Panther cycle – pretty cool. The illustration is great but I dig the inks just as much. The juxtaposition of very dark vs. light areas really pops, especially considering that the character is in a black costume and on a black bike. Lastly, I was (and still am!) very excited to know that we’ll be seeing T’Challa on the big screen soon! Thanks for looking. Social/Sharing |

Great piece! The Dodsons surely can do very nice covers (even without female characters ;)

I never thought of Panther needing a bike, but now I'm sold on the concept. Great cover!

I loved the first six issues of this series. You're lucky to have grabbed this one!

Totally agree, John - this arc was a good one. Also felt lucky to have picked this up when I I did...feeling it even more so now! Thanks for the comment!

This is so very very cool! Rachel really outdid herself on those inks. What a spectacular looking Black Panther!
