DescriptionThis 8" x 10" original hand-drawn Walt Disney's True Life Adventures comic strip from January 5, 1972 was accomplished in pencil, ink, and crayon by animator and cartoonist George Wheeler."Sunken City" shows how, though a shipwreck may no longer have human passengers on board, it serves a new function as a habitat for countless other lives. Wheeler started out as an inbetweener at Disney and then handled the Golden Book adaptation of Cinderella before becoming the sole illustrator of the True Life Adventures daily panels in 1955. Based on the titular series of Oscar-winning nature documentaries, the King Features Syndicate-distributed strip ran in newspapers until 1973, when the comic's one and only writer, Disney Legends recipient Dick Huemer, went into retirement.
