I don't post much of my own artwork on CAF, but I thought this was a fun collaboration between three artists.

Visiting friends last summer, my young nephew Theo asked me to draw dragons with him. So, we sat at the dining room table with pens and typewriter paper, and drew dragons. When it was time to go, I said "Theo, if I can bring the dragon home I can bring you back a color dragon."

My buddy Matthew Mattingly is a great artist, and graciously agreed to apply some of his watercolor magic to Theo's dragon. I gave Theo his dragon last weekend, and he seemed pleased. It remains to be seen if Theo will hang it up or something, or if it'll end up under his bed or swiftly lost to time with the other artifacts of childhood. Either way, Theo's dragon is a nice reminder of two of my artist friends, who are fifty years apart in age, but timeless, too.

Theo is a lucky boy! This is a great-looking drawing. You could slip it into Doc Dave's Frazetta auction, and nobody would blink. Thanks for sharing this!
