Description

Amazing Spider-Man #40 IRIS Lithograph, limited to 300, but the edition was never finished. As far as I know, Wildstorm's license for Marvel ran out, so production got stopped. That was when they finished theit work on the Heroes Reborn and Heroes Return storylines. So there are less than 300 out there, wich counts for the very most of the IRIS prints. For some even far less than 300. They were published by Wildstorm / Jim Lee around 1996.

I have seen John Buscema (Silver Surfer #1), Jim Steranko (Nick Fury Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. #4) and Todd McFarlane (Spider-Man #1) as IRIS Prints also (20 different were made). Nowadays they barely surface on the market. Sighned and numbered by John Romita Senior. It measures about 14x20 inches with a 2 inch border all around.
Printed on high-end acid-free Arches watercolor paper with vibrant colors.

Side note:
In a IGN article from Apr. 12th 2006 I read that DF bought 50 of these prints and
had them signed by Stan Lee too. After almost 10 years John Romita put his signature on them. Also James Fletcher from Heroic Fine Arts had five of these to be remarked by John Romita with a small Spider-Man drawn in pencil.
Several years ago (~2006 or so) I have seen such a print (Spidey swinging),
along with a Buscema (Silversurfer holding his board) and a Steranko (Nick Fury head sketch). All of them were limited to only 5 prints.

Left to it is a recreated ASM #39 cover. (I am not the owner of that one.)
(I am not the guy who puts people on the internet without asking them for permission...
So every face has been blanked by me. I think that is just fair.)
