Karate Kid vs. Howard the Duck by Tim Shinn

When I backed the Kickstarter for the IF Anthology, I donated enough money to get a commission from the super-talented Tim Shinn. I really like a lot of the commissions he posts on his social media feeds, and couldn't wait to get one for myself. Anyway, I asked Tim to contribute to my "Karate Kid vs." collection and gave him a few opponents to choose from. A little while later, I was surprised and delighted when he chose Howard the Duck! Most people think of Howard as a comedy character, and he is, but he is also a master of the little-known fighting style Quack-Fu, as seen in the excellent Howard the Duck #3. Tim delivered a hilarious take on this battle, with Howard learning all too quickly who the true martial arts master is here. I LOVE Howard's face and the cigar flying out of his mouth. This whole thing is excellent and I cannot thank Tim enough for this awesome commission.

Val Armorr is the master of every known martial art in the DC Universe. BUT, I think that there is one martial art that is probably exclusive to the Marvel Universe, and that is Quack-Fu. So Howard may throw Val off at first with moves he's never seen before. Maybe. But I doubt it. Val wins the fight quickly here, but then he has to listen to Howard's thoughts and opinions on martial arts and the 31st Century. Poor Val.
