Kurt Schaffenberger - Detective Comics 487 - Robin and Dick Grayson

I'm very pleased to finally be able to add a piece of art from the legend who was Kurt Schaffenberger (with inks by Joe Giella). Though he had a long, long and illsutrious career, I knew him best from his runs on Captain Marvel and the Marvel Family, and Superboy, and of course his work on Robin's strip in Detective Comics in the 1970's.

This is, IMHO, a great example, with Dick Grayson operating as heir to the Wayne Enterprises fortune (Long before there seemed to be half a dozen offspring around the Batcave), doing some detective work of his own (overlooked by his alter ego) and a costume change to Robin before he goes out to investigate further. Classic stuff!
