Tonko House had a holiday sale and included in the sale was original art by Dice Tsutsumi and Robert Kondo. Of course I knew those pieces would be pricey but I couldn't resist perusing through the store when it went live. Much to my surprise there were a couple of pieces that were very reasonably priced so I quickly purchased them before anyone else could. I knew they weren't by Dice or Robert but I wanted to pick up a piece of Dam Keeper art no matter who it was by. This piece was done by one of the young Tonko House artists Toshi Nakamura.

There was a little bit of a scare with the art. The package arrived and it was opened. The mailer was empty except for the packing slip. I felt my heart sink as I was sure someone had opened the package and stolen the art. I didn't know what to do so I drove to the rural post office to see if they knew what I should do. The mail carrier that always delivers the mail said that one of the carriers at the main post office had showed him something that they didn't know where it belonged and that it might be the art. Well after they texted her it turned it that the art was indeed safe and that luckily it had fallen out at the post office rather then somewhere during transit. I had to wait an extra day for it to be delivered and even then I didn't know if it was going to be the art or not. As luck would have it it was so I am ecstatic to have these pieces in the collection after that ordeal.

This great piece features Pig from Tonko House's short animated film "The Dam Keeper". Just an adorable piece that I am thrilled to have in the collection. I can't wait to see what else the brilliant team at Tonko House comes up with.
