This is the Original Cover Artwork for SUPERMAN #714 (Oct. 2011) - the **Historic** LAST ISSUE of SUPERMAN! This Cover was penciled and inked by super-star artist John Cassaday.

The legendary SUPERMAN series ran for 72 years(!) from the Summer of 1939 to October 2011. The series was restarted with a new #1 in November 2011 as part of "The New 52!" reboot of the DC Universe.

SUPERMAN ran from #1 to #423 (1939 - 1987). The title was changed to ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN for issues #424 to #649 (1987 - 2006). The title was then changed back to SUPERMAN for #650 to #714 (2006 - 2011).

HISTORICAL NOTE: SUPERMAN was the FIRST-EVER comic book series starring a single character! All comics prior to SUPERMAN #1 were anthology titles featuring several characters.

Oh my gosh Fred this is FANTASTIC! Such a great image with super-clean artwork, plus it's MONUMENTAL to boot! One of my favorites in your collection, congrats!
