Splendid! Arthur Adams rules!!
Perfect word, Bill, and I totally agree regarding AA! This is my first piece by him but I'm pretty sure it won't be my last. Got it framed and on the wall so I can look at the spendidness frequently. Thanks for the comment!
Adams rules!
Wow! Wow! Wowzers! This is a beautiful piece of art by Arthur Adams of Morbius!
Good heavens! How in the WORLD did I miss this exquisite piece before now? Honestly, this is a PERFECT piece; the figure-work and "personality" of the subject is immaculate, and the insane cross-hatching (with the diagonal "lightning"-like streak through the piece) simply stuns the viewer. Wow. Mad props, K. Killer piece; well worth a frame! (and I gotta ask: is the frame and matting some combination of red, blue, and black...? ;) )
Thanks, Jason, much appreciated! And of course I agree with all of your comments, no bias ;) As far as the frame job goes, there's no color with this one as the piece itself has no color - that's kind of how of I do it. I do black frames/black mattes but the frame style and bordering mattes depend on the piece. If the piece has color, I'll do some color! Check out my Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends jam, Stelfreeze Black Panther, and Neal Adams Wonder Woman for some examples. I'll get a pic of the Morbius frame job added here soon! Thanks, again, man!
Pure Art Adams goodness!
Love this drawing. Just a real pleasure to stare at and let soak in. Thanks for keepin it posted!!
Another commission that aims to render the character and not only to impress with special effects. Timeless!
Thanks, Carlo! So far, my only Adams piece, and I've thought about getting another but considering all the different OA priorities and that I've already got THIS, I've passed :) As you note, some outstanding pure rendering here. A prime Adams example IMO, no bias of course ;)
I love this! Not the usual AA subject but works so well!
Damn, the amount of time Arthur used to spend on backgrounds on these pieces. Lovely.
