Description***WEEK 3 (of 26) OF MIGHTY SPIDEY FRIDAY***This week I have three pieces from the 2011 "Death of Ultimate Spider-Man" Marvel event. Two from Ultimate Spider-Man #157 and one from #158. In this gritty splash from issue #158, Peter Parker is staggering to his feet after being shot by the Punisher. The bullet had been meant for Captain America, but Spidey pushed him out of the way at the last second. Which is dramatically depicted in the Ultimate Spider-Man #157 splash that I also posted today -- please check it out! http://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1294506 Gravely injured, Peter is in desperate need of a hospital, but as this issue ends and the next begins, he ends up having to take on the remaining five members of the Sinister Six. What follows is a battle royale ending with Spidey facing the full wrath of the Green Goblin. Even in his wounded state, Peter gives as good as he gets, but ultimately, he dies at the end of issue #160. So happy to own some pages from this incredible event, especially being drawn by the fantastic team of Bagley/Lanning. Special thanks and gratitude to my amigo for this one!! Social/Sharing |
