Sophie Campbell - Jem and the Holograms #1 p20 - SHOWTIME Synergy

Writer Kelly Thompson, artist Sophie Cambell and colourist M Victoria Robado have been doing stellar work on this revamp/revival of the quintessentially 1980's cartoon (Which I have an unironic affection for, though I have a preference for the music of the rival group The Misfits). Keeping the basic concept but tweaking it for the modern age and adding in some really fun elements.

And the look of it is extraordinary, with terrific designs and bold, striking colours. It really is unlike anything else on the shelves.

The art is almsot entirely digital so "Original art" is not a thing that will happen, however, the first couple of issues _did_ have some pencil layouts done by Sophie and when I saw they were for sale I had to take the opportunity and pick one up.

It's from issue one, and is THE moment, when shy, stage-fright strcken Jerrica uses the holographic abilities of her supercomputer Synergy to create her dynamic stage persona; JEM!
