Ok, this my last and probably best entry in my 2016 CAF birthday celebration.

It would indeed be difficult to top a Byrne cover in my view.

Byrne is a big big favorite of mine. Probably my favorite artist with Perez growing up. I would probably place him above Perez because Perez was at his peak at DC during the 80s and those series were difficult to access and read in French as a child or teen (if available at all). So I have a stronger emotional link to Byrne’s work which I discovered as a child.

I have a very precise view of the level of quality in his oeuvre. I loved all of his art till the end of his first She Hulk run and the first 2 thirds or 3 quarters of his Namor run. After those, I found it faltered a bit. I followed everything since then but some I found great, some I have mixed feelings about.

Anyway, on this cover, this is still the great Byrne I always knew and deeply loved. So I was delighted to find it. A full body Namor raging into action to fight the bad guys (evil Nazis).

The Namor run conjures great memories and this cover is a fantastic example of that run.

This is the 9th and last part of my 2016 CAF b-day party. Happy b-day to me :)

Great last acquisition commemorating your b-day! Raging is what you thin when you think Namor. Congrats!

Bonne pioche. Quand je pense que les Donnellys proposent la version duo-shade de cette couve à un prix qui en laisseraient bouche-bée plus d'un, sans même préciser que leur planche est en fait un xerox de cette planche-ci.
