Objectively, the romance between Kitty Pryde and Peter Rasputin is probably second in importance and significance to that of Jean Grey and Scott Summers in the history of the X-Men. But, since I started reading the X-Men at the age of 12 in 1983 with issue #167 and fell immediately in love with Kitty Pryde, the affairs of her heart have always been much more interesting to me. Kitty's longstanding crush on Peter finally came to a head in Uncanny X-Men #174 (October 1983) in a well-written and beautifully drawn series of pages by Chris Claremont and Paul Smith.
