Description
This is a bit of a curiosity. It would appear to be an unpublished inventory page for Jungle Comics from the early/mid 50s. I can't identify the primary artist, but there are touches in each panel that are very suggestive of Frazetta's hand. The missionary in the final panel has a particularly strong Frazetta character with extremely fine brushwork. Perhaps even a touch of his sense of humor in the subtle placement of his left hand (see additional pics). Other impressive areas are the sorcerer's headdress in the first panel, the cross hatching in the second as well as the fine line pen work in the third. I'm unaware of other artists working for Fiction House at the time that were capable of these intricacies. I've also never heard of Frazetta doing any work for Fiction House so a possible scenario might be last minute assist on an assignment to pick up some extra bucks? At any rate, it seemed worthy to throw the idea out there and see what other CAF members thought of this page.

I have no hard data to offer on this, but I completely agree that this bears several hallmarks of Frazetta's deft hand. in addition to what you point out, the combination of fine linework in the foreground and thick, looser brushstrokes in the background of that third panel looks like Fritz' style. The handling and design in the foliage, faces, and cloth in every panel looks like FF to me. Each figure in panel 3 is so fluid and relaxed, with one standing and the other in motion; the design in that hat and the linework in the jacket and the grasses, for example, shout Frazetta, to me at least. Good catch re the Missionary's left hand in the bottom panel, BTW...

Wow that is some amazing crosshatching. If not Frazetta, who did that?!?

I don't think so. Frank didn't do anything in a small way. If he inked some of this, it wouldn't be a hand, it would be the girls, and it would be obvious. That's my 2 cents, anyway....
