Issue Synopsis:

"The Slaves of Destiny (Shattershot, Pt. 1)":

Mojo and his soldiers close in on Arize, the leader of the slave-uprising in the Mojoverse. However, before they can capture him, Arize escapes to Earth, arriving in the Hindu Kush. The X-Men detect his mutant signature using Cerebro and the Blue Team, led by Cyclops, heads to Afghanistan to investigate. They find him lying unconscious in the care of some Afghani rebels. While Psylocke uses her telepathy to ascertain his identity, a retrieval team from the Mojoverse arrives to take Arize back to Mojo, but the X-Men easily defeat this incompetent recovery squad. As they retreat back to the Mojoverse, the tracking team makes an offhand comment about Longshot that sufficiently intrigues Rogue and Wolverine. They try to follow them through the portal, but Cyclops stops them, insisting their mission is complete. Meanwhile, Mojo is so humiliated by his team’s embarrassing defeat on live television that he declares he can create his own race of slaves instead of retrieving Arize. Nearby, a mysterious onlooker plots Mojo’s demise.
