Description

Some Common Elements concepts are so obvious that I wonder why I haven't used them before. In the case of this perfectly obvious meeting between comicdom's two most prominent android heroes -- the Vision and the Red Tornado -- the reason is simple: I hadn't come up with an artist who seemed the right fit for the scenario.

The more I thought back to one of the earliest Common Elements entries, however, the more I realized I knew the perfect artist all along. Michael L. Peters, who created the dazzling Rocketeer and Adam Strange CE way back in 2005, brings just the right touch of ethereal atmosphere and classical magic to this new artwork. Peters's style, unique in the comics world, reminds me of the woodcut art of such masters as Albrecht Durer, Alfred Garth Jones, and M.C. Escher.

I too was surprised that this pairing hadn't been done before and the second I opened this, I was glad it hadn't because this is flat out a spectacular, a veritable hurricane of goodness, nay, a whirlwind I should say. Tremendous!
