Description

It had been a few years since I added anything new to my comic art collection, but then Eric Canete's commission list opened up last fall. I've been a huge fan of Eric's for years and didn't know if he'd open his list again anytime soon, so I jumped at the opportunity.

I initially requested a different subject for this piece, but had a last minute change of heart after watching Guardians of the Galaxy again. I knew that Eric did a couple Rocket pieces over the last year or so, but had never seen his take on Groot.

To no one's surprise, Eric killed it. The details in Rocket's weaponry and goggles. Groot's asymmetrical face. I love everything about this commission and I couldn't be more thrilled with how it turned out.

Another example of Canete's design chops! Love the mix of tech and organic here...and the expressions on both characters are perfect. Sincere congrats on this pick up!
