Description

As a part of working out plots for the Crusaders All-New Adventures covers I, as all good geeks do, started compiling lists of all Archie's super heroes. You wouldn't know it by looking at the 80's or any of the newer series but they actually have a whole mess of characters. Once I started to play around with the idea of another series to spotlight Archie's lesser known heroes the concept of a team-up series made a lot of sense. Since the Jaguar's secret identity has him traveling the world as an archaeologist it seemed a perfect fit.

Emmanuel Javier is a great artist I stumbled across over on deviantArt. I'd wanted to get something from him for the longest time but he was always busy. When he did open up his commission list and he and I started talking the whole thing ended up with Emmanuel agreeing to do a series of covers, like David Bednarski did. Another example of Emmanuel's amazingly detailed backgrounds. When I asked for something Atlantis-like I was expecting the traditional sci-fi dome look. I never expected something like this! The background alone makes this one worth it.

If you read the Archie hero line you find that they've got several Atlantises (Atlantis's? Atlanti?). It seemed to make sense to have Jaguar team up with the leader of the Agents of Atlantis, Agent Neptune, to tell a story that hashes it all out. As always, I hope Crusaders fans approve :)

In This Issue ...

When the Jaguar is contacted by Agent Neptune he's surprised to hear that the underseas hero has uncovered some mysterious goings on in the ruins of Atlantis. The heroes embark on a far flung adventure that takes them through all of Archie's undersea worlds! From the legendary Atlantis to the UN's undersea Atlantis peace project to the lost continent of Anderras - feet up and relax readers as the full story of legendary Atlantis is recounted for the first time!

It would've been a great opportunity to feature the Agents of Atlantis in that storyline from the 80s Mighty Crusaders where the ancient city was raised from the depths.

Archie seems to have 3 different Atlantises. There's the classic Atlantis of legend. Then there's the high tech version of the Eterno storylines. And finally there's the super city that the UN built underwater for the Agents of Atlantis. This story would be meant to start to sort them all out and explain how they (may) be connected.
