DescriptionAs a part of working out plots for the Crusaders All-New Adventures covers I, as all good geeks do, started compiling lists of all Archie's super heroes. You wouldn't know it by looking at the 80's or any of the newer series but they actually have a whole mess of characters. So many that even including as many as I could in the Crusaders there were still lots left over. As the idea of the Crusaders covers was to continue and "expand" the Archie universe it struck me that a companion series, like Marvel Spotlight, would be a great way to showcase more of their universe. Lots of bad titles later the obvious hit me and Red Circle Spotlight it was.One of the cool things I always liked about how DC dealt with the JSA was how you'd have some characters who'd grow old / retire and new versions would be introduced while some just remained ageless. It's all about picking the "right" characters to keep and which to let go. And so a 2 part story that takes 3 GAers (Bob Phantom, Inferno and War Eagle) and let's them grow old and retire gracefully letting a new generation take over. This second part stars that new generation of heroes. You've got the daughter of Inferno as well a brand new Bob Phantom and War Eagle. MC's done some great work for this Crusaders thing and he does so again here. The new kids look great here, especially Inferno with her Ordway-vibe, and the sense of scale on Eterno's robot is spot on. I know that the new Bob Phantom got obscured by the logo but there's a logo free version if you want to see all of him. As always, I hope Crusaders fans approve :) Original size 11x17 ------- In This Issue ... ... And Times Present As the Green Gargoyle & his crew attack DC using some of Eterno's abandoned Megalith sentinels the original Bob Phantom, War Eagle and Inferno finish telling their tale of fighting Eterno's robots during WWII. Tune into as a new generation of Archie's heroes takes the center stage! How did the new Inferno get her powers? Who is this new mysterious Bob Phantom?? And what is the connection between the new War Eagle and the Primal Power Lady Inan'a??? This Issue's Cover ... The new Bob Phantom, War Eagle and Inferno taking on one of Eterno's Megaliths.
