Description

This 1988 Paris Cullins title splash page appeared in Silver Surfer Annual #1 & was pg 1, part 3 of 6 of the mini series.

As a back-up feature throughout the 1988 Evolutionary War annuals, Mark Gruenwald provided a history of the High Evolutionary

The story concerns the origin of the High Evolutionary, the powerful being first introduced by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in Thor #134. The story is also tied to the origins of Jessica Drew, Spider-Woman of the Avengers. Her father appears on the page along with the scientist who becomes the High Evolutionary. A powerful, large image of the High Evolutionary appears in the background.

Great art, a classic villain drawn larger than life, a dash of origin and references to Spider Woman. This one is firing on all cylinders.

Great looking page from one of my earliest event books - the Evolutionary War annuals crossover. Always liked H.E. and this is a great retro looking splash. Bravo!
