Description

During the "Five Years Later" storyline, the Legion Academy was renamed the United Planets Military Academy. Many old students remained at the Academy, and many new students enrolled there. Some of them, like Tiger Girl and Xera, had appeared before. But most of them were brand new characters. And in the tradition of most Legion Academy students, we never learned much about them. Which is sad, because I really would have liked to have seen more stories featuring these characters, particularly R3Z7, Rush, and Xera. Ah, well.

This squad of students includes Jagged, Xera, Tiger Girl, Dragonfly, R3Z7, Ringtoss, and Rush. First off, I must say how happy I am that Joel chose to draw Tiger Girl in her tiger form here. She just looks awesome here. And of course he made R3Z7 look all intimidating with his massive robotic arm, And Jagged looks like he's too cool for school with his attitude showing. But most surprising of all is how scary Ringtoss looks. I guess that near-death experience with Jagged made him take things more seriously. So yeah, I love this commission much like the others, and I just love having Joel draw all of these characters who are virtually unknown to comics fandom. Thanks, Joel!
