Description

Normally when I do these imaginary covers I go and work up a plot. Not here :) Just love Mitch's art, that classic late 70's / early 80's Justice League line up and that disco Brainiac! I loved Pulsar Stargrave since I first saw Keith Pollard's gorgeous pin up of him in Who's Who. The idea of someone that powerful taking on the Justice League makes perfect sense. And so it was building on Perez's classic JLA run with a final little coda of awesomeness.

This cover is an homage to ... something. Don't know what or where I saw it but I do know that Mitch took the basic idea and got everything possible out of it. All three looks spectacular here but I've always had a soft spot for Hawkman so I'm glad he turned out as good as he did. Chris, ever, brings his lettering artistry and makes it flawless. Nothing about this isn't an A++.

And now, because there are awesome people in this world, here's the cover in color! Rob contacted me and asked if he could work his magic on it and I just had to say yes. Not much of a choice there ;) Rob went and proved yet again that he's the king of classic colors. Pushed this cover to an A+++ he did. Thanks Rob!
