Description

To say Conny Valentina has become a one of my VERY favorite artists is an understatement of vast proportions. Not only is she immensely talented, but she is the most real, most passionate, most principled artist I have ever met.

Conny and I had had a few email interactions over the years, but back in March of this year (2016), I asked her about an Al Rio cover she had for sale in her gallery. The deal went seamlessly, and very soon we were emailing back and forth like we had been friends forever. This friendship has continued and grown stronger.

When I saw this particular piece, I knew I had to have it, and when I saw it in person, I could not believe how amazing it was. Conny had told me that she loved to catch her characters in those more unguarded, vulnerable moments of reflection, and wow, she nailed it in this case. I have never seen Emma Frost looking so beautiful.

I will be posting more of my Conny Valentina pieces in the days and weeks to come.

Definitely a fun piece for me. It was my first time trying to move away from the well known character and make them more real, more human. WHat would they look like if no one was watching. I love this piece. One of my faves and it makes me realise that this is a theme I must revisit very soon.
