Description

Paul Wenzel Disney Magazine #5 2-Page Painting Jan-Michael Vincent Original Art (Walt Disney, 1975). Artist Paul Wenzel was a 42 year Disney Master Illustration artist. He began with the House of Mouse in 1958 and was the company's art director for the Motion Picture Advertising Department. He also created artwork for a dozen studio holiday cards. Wenzel was the artist behind the 1968 US Post Office Stamp (9/11/68) that honored Walt Disney. This two-page painting was for a text piece on actor Jan-Michael Vincent, who was cover-featured on this issue. Vincent was already known for playing Link in the "Danger Island" segment of The Banana Splits Show, and as the star of the 1973 Disney movie The World's Greatest Athlete. He would become most known for his starring role in the movie and TV series Airwolf. This piece is produced in gouache on illustration board with an image area of 19" x 12.5". The colors are bright and vibrant and it is signed by the artist in the image area. There are some pinholes in the corners, otherwise in Excellent condition.
