This is the second piece I bought from Jonathan Wayshak at San Diego. When we visited Jon’s booth on the first day, I was excited to see if he had any artwork for sale, as he had not attended Comic Con in a few years. Unfortunately, his booth mates told us he was not scheduled to arrive until the next day. There WAS a piece of art on display, but they were not sure about it’s availability status. So we finally met up with Jon on Thursday and while I was very happy to see him, I was equally thrilled to see he had brought a stack of art pages and two gallery pieces with him. I was disappointed to learn that the display piece I saw on the previous day was already sold, but it didn’t take very long for me to pull the money out of my pocket and snatch the two new paintings. It was the fastest and easiest decision I made all weekend. To be honest, up to that point, nothing else at the show had made me even THINK about reaching for my money. As I’ve said repeatedly in the past, I really love Jonathan’s work. And every time I buy a piece of art from him, it’s always been a no-brainer.

More good news from Jonathan during our chat. While he’s spend the last few years concentrating on producing gallery pieces, he told us that at least for the next year or two, he was going to focus solely on comic book work. He’s working on a project with an industry favorite, but I can’t really talk about that yet. Needless to say, I am super excited to see the finished product from these two enormously talented creators. And of course the best part would be if the artwork were to be available for sale at some point. Anyway, my thanks to Jonathan Wayshak for these two new mind blowing pieces of art and for helping to make this year’s Comic Con one of my best ever. Oh, and an extra special thanks to Jon for providing me with his own scans for the artwork. There was just no way I was going to be able to fit these piece onto my scanner. So thanks Jon! Already looking forward to my next acquisitions from you.

Once again, as nice as this scan is, it just pales in comparison to the original. Way$hak's imagination, and skills are top notch!

It really is impossible to see this guy’s stuff in person and not be blown away by it. I’m sure at some point, when he gets a lot older (hopefully many, many, years from now) his hands will start to go, just like anyone else who works with their hands. But for now, he’s making the most out of his tremendous gift. And I’m just happy to be along for the ride. Thanks for the comment bro!
