DescriptionAction Comics #444 is an all-time favorite of mine. And the cover, WOW... so dramatic. Had me so hooked and reeled in as a kid. I immediately became a big Nick Cardy fan as well. His covers for DC were simply gorgeous. In this one there was a realism to it, particularly in his depiction of Green Lantern. Never before has the wonderful costume created by Gil Kane been more vivid. I recently asked the great Mike Decarlo to recreate the cover for me. The results are spectacular! Everything I loved about Cardy's original is maintained while Mike added his pizzaz. I especially like the quality of the Policeman. (almost looks like a serious Barney Fife facially to me) Mike is a true professional, passionate about his work, great to deal with, and always on time.
