Description

Kevin Wada creates some of the most stunning art I have ever had the pleasure to see. I managed to meet him and Kris Anka at a few conventions before having the opportunity to have them work on a larger piece. Kevin does so many variants on characters and creating his own costume designs that I wanted to see his take on one of my favorite X-characters, Rogue. What Kevin unveiled to me is simply magic.

The scan does not even come close to doing Kevin's work justice. The watercolors are so vibrant and clean that you might mistake it for a print. I told Kevin that the 90s cartoon version of Rogue was my favorite so he integrated that theme into a simple and elegant dress. I can envision Anna Marie relaxing in a San Francisco park, sipping on that PBR while waiting for Remy to arrive. Of course the little touches like the R.L. and the X-tattoos are brilliant. The expression and the hair are just fantastic and I am extremely pleased with the "feel" of the piece. If you ever have the chance to commission Kevin, you need to take it.

I'm always pleased to see new pieces by Wada and this one is just lovely. I really like his style!
