Description

When I approached Arvell Jones, the co-creator of Kobalt, with the idea of a Common Elements matchup of his character and the Green Goblin, Arvell's first reaction was, "You know who's going to have to win that fight." I did not disagree.

Arvell's second reaction was, "But what made you think of putting these two together?" I reminded him that the chemical element cobalt, from which the Milestone antihero takes his nom de guerre, derives its name from the German word kobold -- "goblin" in English.

Mr. Jones smiled and nodded. Then he proceeded to draw this action-packed scenario in which you-know-who clearly gets the upper hand.

Ink King Bob Almond later added the superlative embellishments.

This is Common Elements #137. The original pencil art was commissioned and completed at San Francisco Comic Con 2016.
