Description

Here we have six characters published during the Golden Age of comics. Each of these mostly obscure characters starred om their own short-lived title or feature. The companies that published them have long since gone defunct. However, that doesn't mean that these characters don't have potential and can't be made interesting in the right hands.

Since they're all pretty much in the public domain now, I've thought about putting them on a team together, maybe set in the 1940s against the backdrop of WWII -- OR maybe incorporating them into an existing comics universe. Maybe put them in the Liberty Legion, just like DC adopted characters from Fawcett, Quality and Charlton and put them in the All-Star Squadron.

They are depicted here in my first commission with the uber-talented Mike Bowden. He did a phenomenal job rendering each character. Clockwise from the top are Speed Centaur, the Bouncer, the Bronze Terror, the Toreador, Zippo, Steel Fist, and the Green Turtle.

Bowtacular! (okay, sorry, that was a stretch)

Awesome pose on the Toreador. Love the Bronze Terror and Green Turtle. Bouncer turning on the team and jumping Terror like that is not cool ;) A+++!

Not familiar with most of the characters ( although hanging out here on CAF, you five us all an education ) or indeed the artist but I know a good thing when I see it....Gold & Bold !
