Thing comes upon Doom struggling with the real villain - the trapped alien that will become Hunger (making first appearance here). Thing saves Doom and temporarily thwarts The Hunger. Paul was a Master with the FF. He just hated all the guest appearances. He was hoping just to draw the 4 and a villain here and there. Once he joined they started all the infinity cross overs and FF seemed to be a key book in those.
