Description

Single panel cut from a 2x war comic page showing a pilot escaping a crashing plane. This piece of art by Russ Heath comes from the Jack Haney story "The Fighting Links!" published in All-American Men of War #82 (DC Comics, November-December 1960).

And speaking of comic art panels, 7 issues later (All-American Men of War #89, DC Comics, January-February 1962), Roy Lichtenstein used/stole/copied images of comic art panels from various stories the issue -- originally drawn by artists Jerry Grandenetti, Irv Novick and Russ Heath -- for six of his well-known, and quite valuable, pop art works:
