DescriptionA great personal pick up for me, CAFers. I won this at the last Heritage Signature Auction, and I’ll admit, it was one of the rare times I paid a bit more than I usually would because I liked a piece so much…but do I regret it? Nope!One of my all-time favorite runs when I was a kid was X-Factor, from about the Fall of the Mutants storyline through Inferno. This is when Walt Simonson and inker Bob Wiacek joined Walt’s wife Louise to just completely knock it out of the park month after month for about a year and a half. High stakes stories, great characterization of the original X-Men, and of course vibrant art from Walt. And now I’ve got a piece! Also, it’s featuring Iceman with the inhibitor belt! I always thought that was a neat idea and the visual of him cranking it up was just cool. Here you’ve got him with the teacher hat on then a dynamic splash of the switch to battle mode! Also gotta love the “CRASH!” lettering, big and bold! I’ve always liked how different creators can put their own unique spins as far as Iceman visuals and Walt was one of the best. Definitely feel fortunate to have acquired this, especially considering how hard Walt’s published work is to come by. I’m good now with checking off a big one on the collector list, but if anyone’s got a line on any art from the Inferno issues, let ME know! Thanks for looking! Social/Sharing |

Wonderful 3-dimensional breaking the comic frame in lower panel, makes the page larger than life. Congrats on this "cool" find.

Oh man, maybe the single coolest Iceman moment of all time! That ice shield is Simonson's DNA translated to ink. This is a standing ovation-worthy page!!!I
