Can't recall where I just (as in yesterday) saw this -- the Kirby Collector, perhaps? -- but I was looking at the reproduction in detail and marveling at how perfect the composition is, and how that inking is almost hypnotic in its way of doing fabric folds. Came to Boys Ranch very late, but still found the storytelling is old school and engaging. Perfect splash. Thanks for sharing.

Dandy & Angel are marvelously expressive here, but after looking for a while I find that I keep narrowing in on Wee Willie Weehawken...! An absurd character normally, but you really feel the years on him in this portrait.

Just the other day I was wondering where this original might be...and here it is. The first time I saw this page, it was featured in the center 'color' pages of 'All in Color for a Dime'. I probably looked at that splash a thousand times. Seeing it in its original state is absolutely stunning. Wow and double wow!
