Description
I do love Denys Wortman's street scenes, and this Metropolitan Movies panel from September 12, 1945 features a group of kids playing commandos, which I assume was not all that uncommon during WWII. One of the women on the steps says, "Won't it be heaven, Mrs. Lewis, when the war is over and the kids stop playing commandos and go back to cops and robbers again." Poignant stuff.

All your Wortmans are great but this is my favorite, very expressive technique that adds to overall scene. Congrats!
