Description

Adam Warren is one of my very favourite creators, and empowered, a 'sexy superhero comedy' is one of the most consistently warm, witty, humane, exciting and just plan well drawn books out there. the adventures of warren's hapless superheroine Elissa Megan Powers (Emp), her slacker friends, cruel superhero co-workers and the galaxy of stupid and misguided villains is now in its tenth volume.

Splash page from Volume 3 (2008); Emp and her bestie, the New Jersey princess Ninjette, belt out their drunken karaoke version of Blur's 'Girls & Boys'. Of course, and this is from Adam himself, it transpired that the lyrics to 'Girls and Boys' were copyright, and Damien Albern was NOT amused, so it was changed to the hilariously non-copyright lyrics to NKOTB 'The Right Stuff'. Oh, Adam...

Warren produces all the art work (and scripts!), all rendered in a gorgeous soft pencil. His pages are beautiful works of art, and I am so proud to own one (and to have met him at SDCC17). I'm a true fanboy.
