Whenever I'm back-issue bin diving, Secret Origins #39 (Apr. 1989) is one of those comics that I will buy regardless of price or condition. "The Secret Origin of the Man-Bat" by Jan Strnad and Kevin Nowlan is just one of those rare gems that I simply can't pass up. I've gone through more copies than I can count, passing them along to friends and fellow fans in the know. Do yourself a favor and find a copy. This delightfully creepy illustration is a treasured eBay pick-up from recent years.
