Description

I heard that Moon Knight is the Marvel version of Batman. I wont go into all the pros and cons of that statement but suffice to say that when I saw an opportunity to get a sketch from David Finch who has worked on both of those characters, I came up with an idea to do a split sketch cover on a blank comic. From the beginning I had a plan that involved creating a faux cover.

David was gracious and excited when I proposed my idea. He did an amazing job! His style is perfectly suited for these two characters. After it was completed, I used photo quality stats from both publishers; which included creating a hybrid Moon Knight logo from the 1st and 7th series with the iconic crescent O. After some scaling and testing varous print qualities, I adhered them to the blank comic to create the look of a cross-over DC/Marvel, Batman/Moon Knight title. In restrospect, my only regret is that such a piece would have been better suited for 11x17.

How I wish this book actually existed! Alas, it exists in my minds eye and on my wall...for now.
