DescriptionDidn’t make it to San Diego this year, but this piece was one of the souvenirs from my 2016 trip. You’ll notice that I wrote, souvenir from “the TRIP” and not souvenir from the CON. The reason being that I didn’t get this piece at the convention. It was actually a very generous gift from my buddy Jonathan that he ordered directly from Chris when we got home from the show. After the long drive home, I was unloading the car at Jon’s grandmother’s house and I walk in lugging an armload of stuff only to find him sitting on the coach on his phone. I was just about to say something when he exclaimed, “DONE” then looked up and told me to expect something in the mail after I got home. Sure enough, several days later I received a package from Chris Giarrusso with this cool piece inside. When I reached out to thank him, Jon explained that it was an early birthday present. I guess I owe him a bit of an apology for taking so damn long to scan the piece. But here it is, better late than never. If you know me, you know that Spidey is my favorite character. You also know that I prefer the older, classic, Spidey villains over the new guys (like Venom and Carnage). I’ve always loved the Sinister Six because the group consists of most of my favorite classic villains. In this case, Chris went with the second incarnation of the Six with Hobgoblin taking the place of the now dead Kraven. While I certainly don’t consider Hobby a “classic” villain, at least he didn’t stick Venom in there (who is probably one of the Spidey vilains I find the most boring). Not really sure why Chris didn’t just go with the original line up, unless he was recreating a scene from the original appearance of this version of the group. I looked up all the covers to Amazing #334-339, but didn’t really notice any similarities, so maybe he just liked this version. In any case, it’s still a great piece because it’s Spidey, it’s has most of my favorite villains, and it came from my buddy. Thanks Jon!!!!! Social/Sharing |

You're welcome my friend! I'm so happy you invested in a scanner some years back. I just love these color scans! Bluelines rule! ;)
