Description

SOLD IN NOV. 2017 FOR $1947!

20x26.25" beautifully crafted custom frame holds artboard w/pen and ink original art for page 10 of "Detective Comics" #347 (Jan. 1966) featuring Chapter 2 of "The Strange Death Of Batman," showing writer Gardner Fox finishing story, commenting that he hopes fans will like The Bouncer. Fox then goes into his "What If" room where he contemplates the possible outcome if The Bouncer had knowledge of Batman and Robin's tactics in defeating him, a look of dread crossing Fox's face as he wonders how the story could have turned out. Art is by Carmine Infantino (1925-2013), an American comics artist and editor who was a major force in the Silver Age, best known for his work on "Batman, Detective Comics" and "The Flash." Artboard has some rippling but remains clean and art is Exc. Art is further enhanced by great frame created by artist Dan Makara, featuring collage style utilizing various "Detective Comics" panels from the 1960s, including several featuring Batman and Robin as well as image at lower right featuring art offered here.
