I was super thrilled to pick this up from Michael at NYCC 2017. I set the commission up with Golden and Renee at East Coast Comic Con back in April and he said he'd more than likely have it by NYCC and he came through. I absolutely love his take on this character.

For those that might not know, here's the history of the character. Dokuro King was a Henshin Cyborg villain, released as a 12" toy in 1972 by Takara in Japan. Takara initially had the license from Hasbro to make their own 12" Action hero figure which was called Combat Joe and used the same body as the 12" GI Joe. Soon afterwards they decided to create their own line around the figure and made him a clear cyborg and also made costumes for him, most based on the live action and animated TV series of the day.

There were also some of their own characters created. This line was called Henshin Cyborg. There were some villains made for him to fight and they came in a variety of clear colors. The purple one was matched with the Dokuro (Skull/Skeleton) King costume. These figure were the predecessor to Microman which became The Micronauts in the US. Of course, Golden went on to draw the first twelve issues of The Micronauts comic series, so I thought this character would be a perfect choice for him. I love it!
