DescriptionThis cover is SOOOOOOO COOL - LOVE IT!Ever since I first saw this cover art displayed on CAF, I wanted it - REALLY BADLY! So, I was talking with my friend Nick Katradis the other day, just reminiscing about girls and comic art - two of my favorite subjects, and the subject of Western covers came up. I remembered that someone, I did not know who, had once listed this remarkable cover in their gallery on CAF. I figured that I just take a shot and asked, "Do you happen to be the one who owns the Six Guns #2 cover art?" He replied, "Yep. I own the #3 and #4 as well." So, I basically begged him to sell me the #2 cover because it was one of those unforgettable images that just resonated with me - premaritally branded upon my brain as a GREAT piece of artwork by one of the most talented artists in the industry today. And, in one of my favorite mediums to boot - ink wash. He graciously agreed to sell the cover to me and even talked me into buying issue #4 cover art as well. God, I'm a push over when it comes to great ink wash covers. Original cover artwork for Six Guns #2 (Marvel Comics, 2012) by the immensely talented Butch Guice (pencils and ink wash). This striking image features the Two Gun Kid dueling it out with The Black Rider complete with a bull skull hanging overhead - how RAD is that? The story is entitled, "Two-Gun Tango!" with the Two-Gun Kid and The Black Rider as the main heroes of the tale. Here is Nick's description of the 5-part series: "This was a great 5-part Marvel mini-series that just finished up last month; I enjoyed the story and the interior art; But the covers, drawn and inked by Butch Guice, are absolutely breathtaking! Butch reinvented himself the past few years - his art is incredible; Butch uses a wash-tone technique similar to the one used by Steve Epting; This story is about Marvel gunslingers: Tarantula, Tex Dawson, Black Rider, Matt Slade and the Two-Gun Kid - Marvel gives them a modern-day makeover in 2012; This hard-bitten tale of blood and bullets is by the DAREDEVIL: REBORN team of Andy Diggle and Davide Gianfelice. Five heroes, six guns…against six hundred! Thanks again Nick for selling this cover to me! ENJOY! Social/Sharing |
