Mesklin from Toorey by Richard McKenna

This piece was from the Estate of Hal Clement. He was given the piece by the artist (signed Richard McKenna) in the 50s. When he showed me the piece in the late 90s, he had long lost contact with the artist. The painting shows the planet Mesklin (from Clement's Mission of Gravity) seen from near the Human station on its moon Toorey. It was used as the cover art for the NESFA Press Clement collection, Variations on a Theme by Sir Isaac Newton
