I just recently acquired this spectacular splash page...but I originally bought it during the mid 80's from Wally Harrington for a mere $50 at a San Diego Comic Con. When I first bought this art over 30 years ago, I purchased it with the intentions of giving it as a gift to a good friend of mine who lived in my home state of Oklahoma. He was a huge fan of the Curt Swan/Murphy Anderson team on the Superman and Action Comics titles...and I knew he would just love to own this art. As a matter of fact, while I was there at the con, I had the opportunity to have Murphy Anderson sign the splash as well. Anyway, I gave the art to him and he was so ecstatic to receive my gift! Well...fast forward to 2017 and...to my surprise, David announces to me that he would like to return the art back to me. He enjoyed the art for over three decades, but he thought it was time to pass it on to someone else who would appreciate it as much as he did. He completely understood the current monetary value of the piece, but that didn't seem to be a concern for him. I told him that I would accept it art...but if he ever changed his mind, he could have it back whenever he wanted.
