Cecil Doughty. Young Tom Clifton is seized on his way to school at Newgate in one of the strangest ever kidnapping cases. Tom Clifton is kidnapped by James Robinson on his way to visit Newgate and forced to become a child actor at Blackfriars Theatre! Look and Learn issue no 70 (18 May 1963), page 5.
