Description

In his fifty-year career, Carlo Jacono (1929-2000) painted thousands of covers for spy, mystery, sci-fi, pulp and crime books... And comic books.

This is the cover for Segretissimo #535 (Feb, 1974) featuring a spy story titled "Singapore calls Coplan", with secret agent Francis Coplan (Agent FX 18) created by Paul Kenny, pen name of Belgian writers Gaston Van den Panhuyse (1913-1995) and Jean Libert (1913-1981).

It's a striking and colorful image, in the unmistakable style of this Italian master illustrator. In this case the typical red circle was added during the printing phase.
