Cleopatra in Space sketch by Mike Maihack, San Mateo Library 2018

      Mike Maihack is the cartoonist of Cleopatra in Space, a science-fiction adventure story. It started as a webcomic and is now published by Scholastic's Graphix. I first saw some examples of his art on his deviantart site and have made mail order purchases. I met Mike when he came out to San Francisco for the American Library Association National Conference in 2015. This year, the Peninsula Libraries Comic Arts Fest flew him from Florida to the San Mateo Library. Mike gave a presentation on his career in comics. Following a Q&A session, Mike signed and sketched for his fans.
