DescriptionI am very happy to reacquire this beautiful splash by one of my favorite artists after letting it go about 10 years ago. I have been thinning my collection lately but this is one piece that I loved when I first bought it directly from Alan years ago when it was first made available by Jim Warden. I hated parting with it the first time but life gets in the way of collecting sometimes when we have to part with pieces we love. Thank you Brian for giving this piece a great home in my stead for these many years and thank you for making it available once more. As we all learn, any piece we give up years ago will probably cost at least twice what we gave it up for, if not more, depending on the piece. I've been fortunate over the years to reacquire a few pieces that I let go, and this is one I'm very glad to have back! When I first started collecting original art Alan Davis was one of the first artists I voraciously pursued. He was one of the best kept secrets back then and was something I could more readily afford. Over the years as I needed money for other acquisitions I let a lot of his art go, including more than half of the JSA covers he drew. I still look at scans I have of each of those pieces and long for the days I owned those. This piece fills that void of loved and lost art. I am thrilled to be getting this one back! Social/Sharing |

I completely agree! Of all the art that has passed through my hands over the years the ones I've missed the most were by Davis, Golden and Pérez! I never tire of looking at any of his work either!
