Another great addition, Kirk ! and a great piece of art by Buscema !
woooow this is a grail my friend - congrats !!!
A great John Buscema Avengers page in the middle of a great story line Kirk, beautifully inked by Tom Palmer, who has always done wonderful work on every pencilled page he has worked over. An interesting and veiled comment on the nefarious one.
Ha! Love your description! Sadly, he's my hero too. All time favorite artist actually, although you could never tell from looking at my collection. But I sought out all his back issues when I was a teenage comic collector. Including, of course, this great Avengers arc. Never met the man myself, although I've been nearby when he was dealing with fans at cons. And I've heard some of the crazy stories. At the end of the day, I have to be able to judge the artwork separately from the artist. Speaking of which, great page! Was wondering who would end up with this one. John did such a great job on his portion of this story. And Palmer didn't skip a beat with his inks. Hopefully you'll still be able to land an Adams Kree-Skrull page someday.
8 ) - I almost got that Goltiath centric page that was just at auction so no doubt the time will come but this fits the bill nicely in the meantime.
Fantastic title page, congratulations
Love your (accurate) description! And that's a great page. John stepped in last minute when the previous artist was falling behind schedule on the book and knocked it out of the park. That was a terrific storyline - how to really do an epic Avengers tale - and sported some of the best artistic work of all involved, from Sal at the beginning up to his brother at the end. If comics looked and read as good now I'd probably still be reading them. And how could anyone go wrong under Tom Palmer's inks?
So good!!!
SWEET!
The perfect way to add a Kree-Skrull War page to your always-awesome collection - congrats!
great page, kirk! i thought that the transition between the adams penciled pages and the buscema penciled pages from this book were seamless, probably due to tom palmer's excellent inking. congratulatiuons- you are now officially enlisted in the kree-skrull war!
This is a gem of a page indeed. Enjoy
Wonderful!
Awesome piece! Congrats!
Great pick-up Kirk! You cannot go wrong with a Kree-Skrull War page, especially a splashy one like this!
