Description

This is something of a "Grail" for me ... I've been desiring a page from the story BLACK COLOSSUS for about 25 YEARS! My ULTIMATE page from the story was available about 25 years ago, but this one will certainly suffice (at, strangely enough, about 25 TIMES the PRICE of that ultimate page 25 years ago!)

I have LOVED Alcala's linework over Buscema's Conan pencils in the SSOC books ever since I first saw them ... just sublime.

The top panel alone is worth the price of admission and the page as a whole is just fantastic, congrats!

Maybe not "the" page, but a flawlessly rendered, perfect Buscema/Alcala Black Colossus page, by any standards! This is what our hobby is all about... congrats! It's true that every time a comic art collector acquires a long sought grail, you hear a bell, and an angel gets his wings.

I'm not CERTAIN the page number, but here is the page in a photocopy (I think it says page 18, but I can't recall if I made the copy from a TPB or the actual issue, so I don't know if page 18 is correct.) https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=164609
